Guide people from application to signed contract
Connect self-service forms, identity checks, document preparation and signature into one journey, with the team handling exceptions.
These anonymised stories draw on Julien Cyr’s operating experience, including four years within one employment and education group. Related implementation examples illustrate specific patterns; they are not additional client references.
A high-volume onboarding process needs to work for two groups: the person completing their file and the team responsible for its quality and progress.
The business need
Applicants need clear steps and visibility on what remains to do. Teams need consistent records, an overview of progress and a way to handle exceptions that require judgment.
The connected solution
The journey combines a form, identity verification through Stripe Identity, document generation, electronic signature and updates to business systems. Each step passes the information needed by the next, with a shared view of the file’s status.
From self-service to team review
The person supplies their information, completes the required verification and signs the prepared document. The team follows progress and handles exceptions. The organisation can retain verification status rather than distributing identity-document copies through its own workflow; provider retention and data-protection obligations still require configuration and review.
What the team takes forward
The product connects a user journey, a data model and operational follow-up. Clear validation rules, traceable statuses and recoverable integrations matter as much as the form. The document-generation example illustrates a related implementation; the Zapier recovery example is a proposed architecture, not evidence of the orchestration used in this project.
Who runs it now
- Teams maintain permitted form fields, templates and exception handling.
- Technical maintainers review identity, signature and integration changes.
- Ownward can support complex changes and operational escalation.
